Kevin began training in 1992 as a prosthetic technician when new materials and techniques were emerging in the field making his profession an art as well as a science. He found being on the prosthetic fabrication team to be very challenging and rewarding.
In 1997, Kevin received his prosthetic technician certification. He has worked side by side with nationally recognized peers, learning the art and science of prosthetic socket designs. He received his Certified Prosthetist credentialing in 2000 and has been working with upper extremity patients with a focus on designing and fitting all levels of specialized upper extremity prosthetics.
“Every patient has unique circumstances that require understanding, support and confidence to move forward from their loss,” says Kevin. “I find that working with this unique patient population is very rewarding, and I enjoy being part of the solution to help our patients/ friends live, work and play in the world the way that they want too.”
Kevin has a long history with the major manufacturers and designers of upper extremity products which allows him to select the appropriate devices and control strategies unique to each individual. With extensive fitting experience with partial hands, Kevin is able to implement everything from activity specific designs to powered digits and beautiful lifelike passive silicone restorations. Kevin is one of the first practitioners in the country to provide the next generation of control through pattern recognition, which gives our patients a new and exciting level of movement and freedom not found elsewhere.
Kevin has been working for POSI since 2001 with the vision of advocating for our patients, providing the best anatomical fit possible, and delivering the best components available to achieve the task at hand.
