Diane Jagelavicius, CP LP
I spent my time volunteering at JFK Rehab Hospital Prosthetics & Orthotics labs and went on to complete my graduate training in prosthetics at Northwestern University. With a solid foundation in body movement, mechanical background and a passion for working with people, I feel the field of prosthetics is a perfect fit for me. As a resident, I conducted a six month research study on amputees’ experiences with physical therapy. The most concerning finding uncovered the lack of consistency in gait training that patients received. I have found this to be true not only in the realm of physical therapy, but also with prosthetic care. Here at POSI, I am grateful to be part of a team of compassionate and knowledgeable practitioners who strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Education & Certifications
Diane is an ABC Certified Prosthetist and an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Rutgers University. As an undergraduate, she was introduced to the field of prosthetics.
Upon graduation from Northwestern University, Diane joined the POSI team in 2010, where she completed her residency before becoming a Certified Prosthetist.
Diane’s extensive experience with microprocessor knees and ankles including Rheo Knee, Symbionic Knee/Foot system, Genium knee, C-Leg Knee, Proprio Foot, and Biom Power Ankle allows her to specialize in and enjoy the rewards of restoring mobility for lower extremity amputees.
