Almost 2 million Americans have experienced amputations or were born with limb complications. The Amputee Coalition is the nation’s leading organization on limb loss, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for amputees and their families, improving patient care and preventing limb loss through prosthetic support groups.
Amputation Abilities Support Group (AAG)
The AAG (Associated with Moss Rehab) meets monthly in person and quarterly online with a variety of topics related to living with limb loss or limb difference. We start with a short education topic and end with socialization and networking.

Kessler Rehabilitation Hospital
For more than 65 years, Kessler Institute has pioneered the course of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Today, they continue to define this field – providing the highly specialized care, advanced treatment and leading-edge technologies that enable individuals with amputation to rebuild their lives. Amps in Action was setup to provide information and links of interest to amputees, their families and friends. The idea is to guide amputees to resources that will help them quickly return to a full and active life through prosthetic support groups.

Voorhees Amputee and Stroke Organization uses prosthetic support groups and focuses on the idea that peer support is critical to the recovery and adjustment of Amputee, Stroke Patients and their Caregivers. They thrive through a close knit community that all support each other through their facebook page.
Magee Rehabilitation
Magee Rehabilitation has Prosthetic Support Groups and an Amputee Peer Mentor Program. The Amputee Support Group consists of social meetings and events in addition to gues speakers on a variety of topics. The Amputee Peer Mentor Program is a group of volunteers at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. It is a free service that gives individuals with amputations the opportunity to talk with one another. The peers share their experiences, knowledge, provide emotional support and practical information on everyday concerns. They are living proof that individuals with amputations can recover and continue to have active lives.
